Accessible facilities for people with disabilities

CUT is committed to ensuring that its facilities are accessible to all students, staff, and visitors, including individuals with disabilities. Despite its urban setting and the dispersion of its infrastructure across multiple owned and rented buildings, the University continuously implements measures to facilitate an inclusive and barrier-free environment.

Accessibility features across CUT’s buildings include:

  • Ramps strategically installed at building entrances and key internal pathways to support seamless mobility for wheelchair users and individuals with physical disabilities.
  • Elevators across multi-level buildings, ensuring access to all academic and administrative spaces.
  • Braille signage in specific locations to assist blind or visually impaired individuals with independent navigation.
  • Clearly marked accessible routes and visibility- enhancing wayfinding systems incorporated into campus design.

To support accessible navigation of the campus, CUT provides a detailed campus accessibility map, which highlights accessible routes, entrances, and building facilities. The map is currently being updated to include interactive features and detailed accessibility notes for each building, further enhancing independent navigation and ensuring that individuals with disabilities can confidently identify accessible entrances, routes, and facilities across campus. Through these actions, CUT demonstrates its ongoing commitment to accessibility and equal participation, ensuring that no member of its community is excluded from university activities or spaces based on physical ability.
