Mental health support for staff

In 2023, a number of innovative activities were launched by / in collaboration with the Department of Nursing, targeting the wider University community, including academic and administration staff, with the aim of addressing mental health stigma and raising awareness on the importance of mental well-being.

Speed Dating with an Expert

Members of the University community (students, administration and academic staff) could meet and talk with mental health professionals from within (academics and students of the MSc “Advanced Nursing & Mental Health Care”) and beyond CUT, on mental and emotional health, while dispelling myths and highlighting truths about mental and emotional health. Through this action, the participants (students and staff) were able to raise questions and receive answers. At the same time, the activity gave postgraduate students the opportunity to communicate directly and scientifically with the community, thus practicing mental health promotion, a key dimension of their professional role.

Public screening of the film “A sofa in Tunisia”

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, followed by open discussion with participants (students and staff) on the stigma of mental health, this event was organised by the Department of Nursing with the participation of MSc “Advanced Nursing & Mental Health
Care” students.

Workshop on the psychotherapeutic impact of the arts

This one day workshop included invited seminars by experts and experiential workshops giving the student, academic, and administration staff community of CUT the chance to express their distressing emotions through the art of painting.
