Energy efficiency services for industry

Free services

CUT provides advisory and training services to public institutions and organisations to promote energy efficiency and clean energy adoption.

CUT academics have delivered specialised consulting workshops and technical guidance to organisations such as the Youth Board of Cyprus and the Cyprus Lifelong Learning Foundation (IDEP). These workshops helped participants identify key actions and develop strategic plans to reduce energy consumption and implement sustainability-oriented criteria in their funded projects.

These collaborations form part of CUT’s broader mission to strengthen public awareness, build institutional capacity, and support the national transition toward clean and efficient energy use.

Paid services

CUT also provides professional consulting and research services to both public and private-sector clients in the field of renewable energy, energy market optimisation, and sustainability management.

A representative example is the Green IDEP 2025 – Consultancy Services for the Environmental Sustainability of IDEP’s Activities” project, through which CUT experts supported the Cyprus National Agency for Erasmus+ (IDEP) in assessing and reducing its carbon footprint. The project introduced targeted measures to improve the organisation’s environmental performance, enhance energy efficiency, and integrate sustainable practices into its operations.

In 2024, CUT was also commissioned by a private Renewable Energy Sources (RES) company to conduct a detailed study on the open electricity market in Cyprus, analysing how energy storage systems could be incorporated into the company’s energy mix portfolio. The study aimed to enhance the integration of renewables and promote grid flexibility- key components for achieving a cleaner and more resilient energy system.

Through both free and paid services, CUT contributes directly to the improvement of energy efficiency and clean energy adoption within Cyprus’s public and private sectors. These actions reinforce the University’s commitment to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), ensuring that research and knowledge are actively transferred to society and industry for measurable environmental impact.
