- Title: Cypriot Safer Internet Center – CYberSafety V
- Acronym: EUreka3D
- Funding framework: DIGITAL
- Abstract: The digital age has radically transformed the way children grow up, communicate and learn. In today’s Europe, where technological progress is advancing at a rapid pace, access to digital media is an integral part of everyday life – even for very young children.
Digital technologies offer unique opportunities: enhancing learning, developing 21st century skills and opening up to a global world of knowledge and creativity. However, their uncontrolled or inappropriate use can expose children to serious risks: digital violence, misinformation, addictions and even invasion of their privacy.
To ensure that technology works for children’s development and not against it, it is essential to cultivate digital literacy from an early age. Children, parents and teachers need guidance and support to navigate the digital world with safety, critical thinking and a moral conscience.
The CyberSafety V project continues the successful work of the Cyprus Safer Internet Center, in order to promote a safe online culture and strengthen the creative, innovative and critically thinking citizens of the digital society in which we live.

- Acronym: FCC-State
- Funding framework: US Department of State/American Embassy in Nicosia
- Αbstract: Misinformation can disrupt people’s lives, increase discord and promote division and polarization. Addressing these challenges is the main goal of Fact-Check Cyprus. At the same time, we want to inform the public about ways to develop critical thinking and distinguish truth from fake news.
We prioritize the accuracy of information, maintaining independence, accountability, impartiality and transparency. Cross-checking and verifying information is crucial. Each element must be examined in detail and documented with authoritative sources. Fact-checking organizations such as Fact-Check Cyprus must remain independent of political, economic and ideological interests. The methodology and sources we use for checking are transparent. Readers have access to the information that substantiates the check and can reproduce it. If mistakes are made, we acknowledge them and publicly point them out. We operate independently, without external influences, to maintain our integrity and public trust. Our sole goals are to inform the public about issues related to misinformation and fake news, as well as media and social media literacy.

The inception of this initiative follows a pivotal event titled “Misinformation & Anti-misinformation and migration” held at Cyprus University of Technology.
Fact-Check Cyprus seeks to address the far-reaching implications of misinformation by providing a reliable platform for accurate information dissemination.
It also aims to empower individuals with the necessary tools to navigate today’s complex media landscape with confidence and discernment.
Through strategic partnerships and targeted interventions, Fact-Check Cyprus endeavors to establish itself as a trusted authority in the fight against misinformation, fostering a culture of critical thinking and media literacy among the public.

- Funding framework: CERV-2022-DAPHNE
- Abstract: Τhe EU/CERV-funded RESPECT coordinated by the Department of Nursing, CUT, a broad partnership of NGOs, professional associations, and competent authorities joined forces to advocate for women’s rights in maternity care. In Cyprus, CUT with NGO partners — Birth Forward, Federation of Patients’ Associations (OSAK) and Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) — co-led a national participatory process to evaluate maternity care services and co-develop a National Strategy for Respectful Maternity Care, grounded in WHO and White Ribbon Alliance frameworks. In parallel, the same participatory approach and tools were replicated in Croatia through collaboration with RODA – Parents in Action, a leading NGO advocating for parental and reproductive rights across the Balkans. The interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral nature of this “social alliance” has been highlighted as good practice from the European network IMAgiNE (Improving Maternal and Newborn Care in the Euro region), as it is aligned with the WHO recommendation to adopt an inclusive and participatory process in initiatives to improve the quality of maternity care services.
