CUT actively promotes access to physical health-care and well-being services, while fostering social engagement and collaboration with local organisations, through an integrated approach combining sports infrastructure, wellness programmes, and the provision of health information, awareness initiatives, and educational activities that support physical and mental well-being.
The University provides daily access to gyms and sports facilities in Limassol and Paphos, offering safe and inclusive environments for physical activity, exercise, and social interaction. These facilities are available free of charge to students, staff, and their immediate family members, while also supporting the wider community. The GSO Sports Center is accessible to the public during non-student hours through an online booking system, and local schools are granted free access when facilities are not in use by the University. In addition, the Paphos gym is made available during off-peak hours for the training of high-level athletes, through collaborations with local sports organisations.
CUT offers a comprehensive and continuously updated programme of sports, wellness, and recreational activities, designed to appeal to both beginners and experienced participants, promoting healthy lifestyles and preventive health practices. Activities include running, sailing, windsurfing, alpine skiing, rock climbing, bowling, golf, nature exploration, and other recreational pursuits.
Through its Sports Office, the University supports the dissemination of health-related information, promotes participation in physical activity, and contributes to health education and awareness across the university community. Students are also employed within sports facilities, gaining valuable experience while actively contributing to the organisation and delivery of sports activities.
Furthermore, CUT maintains official university sports teams that participate in competitions organised by the Cyprus University Sports Federation (C.U.S.F.), promoting teamwork, inclusion, sporting excellence, and long-term engagement in physical activity.
Through these initiatives, CUT ensures broad and inclusive access to physical health-care services, contributing to the promotion of healthy lifestyles, social cohesion, and active living within the university and the wider community.
