The University has adopted a Code of Practice for Preventing and Combating Harassment and Sexual Harassment, which establishes clear procedures for reporting incidents, including confidential handling of complaints and protection against retaliation. This framework enables staff to safely report misconduct such as harassment, bullying, or inappropriate behaviour, while ensuring immediate support and protective measures.
In parallel, CUT operates a structured appeal and grievance procedure for employment-related matters through the Human Resources Service. Staff members can formally submit complaints regarding employment rights, working conditions, or treatment in the workplace. The procedure is formally established, easily accessible through an electronic submission system, and ensures that all staff have the right to appeal on employment-related matters. Cases are reviewed confidentially by the Human Resources Service and, where necessary, escalated to senior management or relevant committees, ensuring transparency, impartiality, and due process. These mechanisms function as an internal reporting system that ensures the confidentiality of whistleblowers and enables staff to safely report concerns without fear of retaliation.
Furthermore, disciplinary regulations and rules for both academic and administrative staff, as defined in the legislation of the University of Cyprus and applied by analogy at CUT, provide a formal and comprehensive framework for handling misconduct, disciplinary actions, and employment-related grievances in a fair and confidential manner.
Through these mechanisms, CUT ensures that all staff have access to secure, confidential, and transparent reporting channels, reinforcing a culture of accountability, respect, and ethical conduct across the institution.
