CUT actively supports student access to sexual and reproductive health-care services through a range of educational, awareness, and support initiatives. Students benefit from targeted events such as the SEX Talk workshop, organised by the CUT Student Development Center and Cy Checkpoint, and the annual “Youth: Healthy Relationships and Companionship” seminar in collaboration with the Cyprus Family Planning Association, which provides a platform for open dialogue on topics such as healthy relationships, sexual education, and available support services.
Additionally, CUT co-developed the FGM E-Campus- a free, multilingual online course accessible to students and staff- addressing the prevention of female genital mutilation. The University also co-manages the Baby Buddy Cyprus platform, which provides free, evidence- based guidance and emotional support for expectant parents, with strong participation from the CUT community.
Demonstrating its commitment to reproductive rights and workplace inclusivity, CUT became the first public institution in Cyprus to establish a dedicated breastfeeding room in 2023. This initiative is underpinned by CUT’s formal Breastfeeding Policy, which outlines the University’s commitment to providing a respectful and supportive environment for breastfeeding students and staff, and sets a precedent for other institutions in Cyprus.
These initiatives reflect CUT’s broader commitment to student well-being, reproductive health, and rights-based education.
