CUT has a dedicated Disability Support Service, primarily operated through the Center of Student Development, which serves as the main point of contact for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses. This Center provides individualised support tailored to each student’s specific needs, including accommodations for visual or hearing impairments, mobility challenges, chronic health conditions, or psychological issues.
Support is delivered through a collaborative approach involving the student, academic staff, and administrative personnel to ensure an inclusive and equitable academic experience. Services include text enlargement and translation, transcription for written exams, provision of special equipment, individual tutoring, access to dedicated study rooms, and practical exam and lecture accommodations such as deadline extensions or ignoring spelling errors. CUT also offers support from traffic attendants and qualified staff or advanced-year students for tutoring, with additional measures introduced on a case-by-case basis.
Complementing this, the Diversity and Inclusion Office works to ensure that university infrastructure, digital platforms, and services are fully accessible. It plays a central role in identifying and addressing barriers and promoting equal opportunities.
Together, these dedicated units reflect CUT’s strong commitment to supporting students with
disabilities and fostering a fully inclusive academic environment.
