Environmental policy

CUT has adopted a comprehensive environmental policy that demonstrates its strong commitment to sustainability and climate action. Approved by the University Senate in April 2024, the policy integrates environmental responsibility into all University operations. It emphasises compliance with environmental legislation, promotes energy and water conservation, and supports the use of renewable energy and energy-efficient infrastructure.

CUT is committed to continuous improvement by monitoring and evaluating its sustainability performance, incorporating sustainability goals into its strategic planning. The university fosters a culture of environmental awareness through education, community engagement, and open dialogue.

Key actions include effective waste management, reduction of resource consumption, recycling, and safe handling of hazardous waste.

CUT also encourages green procurement and digital governance to minimise environmental impact. Research and innovation related to environmental protection are actively promoted, along with actions addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Furthermore, CUT values collaboration and seeks partnerships with other institutions to advance its sustainability goals. This Policy reflects the university’s proactive approach in embedding sustainability at the core of its academic, operational, and social practices.
