CUT has established dedicated institutional structures for equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), including both an Equality Committee and a Diversity and Inclusion Office, formally mandated by the University administration and operating under the authority of the Rector.
The Diversity and Inclusion Office, which reports directly to the Rector, serves as the University’s primary operational body for the implementation of policies, programmes, and training activities related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights. It ensures the integration of EDI principles into institutional governance and culture, promotes awareness, and develops practical tools and initiatives that support equal opportunities and inclusive participation across the university community, including the implementation of institutional action plans and practical tools that promote inclusive practices and equal access. At the European level, the Office represents CUT within the European University of Technology (EUt+) Alliance, contributing to the establishment of the EUt+ Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Office, which promotes collaboration and alignment of EDI policies across partner universities in Europe.
The Equality Committee functions as an advisory body to the Rector, responsible for shaping institutional strategy and providing guidance on EDI-related policies and actions. Its work focuses on policy development, consultation and support, and awareness-raising, including advising on institutional policy development and ensuring alignment with national and European equality and human rights frameworks.
The Office and the Committee work in close collaboration to design and deliver training activities, awareness initiatives, and institutional action plans, ensuring that EDI principles are systematically integrated across teaching, research, administration, and campus life.
Through these coordinated structures, CUT demonstrates a strong institutional commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights across all levels of the organisation.
