CUT has established comprehensive structures to uphold ethical standards across all levels of the University. The Research Ethics and Deontology Committee plays a central role in evaluating the ethical dimensions of research involving human subjects, personal data, and sensitive issues. It ensures alignment with national legislation, EU regulations, and international ethical frameworks, safeguarding the integrity and responsibility of all research activities through structured guidance and approvals.
The GDPR Office further reinforces this commitment by ensuring compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and national laws. It supervises the proper handling of personal data across the University, fostering transparency, accountability, and the protection of individual rights.
In parallel, CUT implements the Rules of Ethics and Good Practice, an approved institutional framework that outlines the core principles guiding the behaviour and responsibilities of all members of the university community. These rules are essential for cultivating a culture of academic integrity, respect, equality, and professionalism. They address areas such as research ethics, teaching conduct, and academic publishing, contributing to a consistently ethical and responsible academic environment.
Together, these bodies and frameworks ensure robust oversight and promote a culture rooted in ethical awareness, institutional accountability, and respect for human dignity.
