Methodology for calculating emissions reduction

The methodology we follow to calculate emissions is summarised below:

  • The consumption of motor and heating fuels is calculated using the corresponding emission factor that converts to carbon dioxide. The same applies to electricity.
  • For f-gases, based on the data provided, a conversion of the gases that are estimated to escape into CO2 equivalent is made
  • For other goods (paper), the methodology used is that can be found in Tomberlin et al. (2020)
    For waste, organics we convert into methane, given the management they receive using equations from the IPCC.

The tools of the calculation methodology for reducing pollutants according to “The Greenhouse Gas Protocol A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard” are also used.
