CUT provides dedicated training on social aspects of sustainability for academic staff, administrative personnel, and students, with several initiatives offered on an annual basis through central university services and internal entities.
The Human Resources Services (HRS) organises mandatory training in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. In 2023–2024, this included an informative seminar on the Code of Practice for the Prevention and Handling of Bullying, Sexual Harassment, and Harassment targeting at all academic and administrative staff in key roles across the university. This seminar aimed to raise awareness, promote a respectful and inclusive working and learning environment, and ensure appropriate responses to incidents.
The Learning Development Network (LDN) also contributes through mandatory training. All new academic staff attend the session “Education to and for Sustainability”, which promotes the integration of sustainability into teaching and includes portfolio-based assessment, and a strong focus on its social dimensions. LDN further offers the course “Internationalisation of University Curricula” to academic staff, focusing on integrating global perspectives into academic programs with an emphasis on the social aspects of sustainability.
These initiatives reflect CUT’s commitment to fostering a socially responsible, safe, and inclusive
university culture for all members of its community.
